1. Who We Are

2. Age Requirement

PocketGyms is intended for users aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, contact us at hello@pocketgyms.app and we will delete it promptly.

3. What Data We Collect

Account data: name, email address, password (encrypted). Profile data: date of birth, gender, profile photo (optional). Fitness data: workout logs, exercise history, personal bests, routines and programmes. Body data: weight entries, body measurements. Nutrition data: food diary entries, calorie and macro logs, water intake. Health data: sleep duration, recovery scores, step count. Goal data: fitness goals, TDEE, calorie targets, macro splits. Usage data: app activity, feature usage, error logs. Device data: device type, operating system, app version.

4. How We Use Your Data

We use your data to: provide and operate the app and its features, personalise your experience including workout recommendations and nutritional targets, calculate your daily score, XP, levels and achievements, enable progress tracking over time, send notifications you have opted into, manage your subscription and billing, improve the app through aggregated analytics, and comply with legal obligations. Legal bases under UK GDPR: contract performance, legitimate interests, and consent.

5. Third-Party Services

We work with the following third-party processors: Supabase (database and authentication), Vercel (app hosting), Cloudflare (network security and proxying), FatSecret (food and nutrition database), Apple (Sign in with Apple and In-App Purchases), Google (Sign in with Google), Stripe (payment processing for web subscriptions). We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

6. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely on Supabase servers with encrypted connections (HTTPS), encrypted passwords, and row-level security controls ensuring only you can access your data. Some data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside the UK, including the United States. Where this occurs we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place including Standard Contractual Clauses. No system is completely secure — please use a strong unique password.

7. Local Storage

The app stores certain preferences and app state data locally on your device using browser storage (localStorage), including your theme preference, language setting, and XP progress data. This data does not leave your device and is separate from data stored on our servers.

8. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will permanently remove your personal data within 30 days, except where required by law.

9. Your Rights Under UK GDPR

You have the following rights regarding your personal data: right of access, right to rectification, right to erasure, right to restriction of processing, right to data portability (use Export Data in the app), right to object, and right to withdraw consent at any time. You can delete your account and all personal data immediately via Profile → Account → Delete Account. Type DELETE to confirm. This action is permanent and cannot be undone. To exercise any other right, contact hello@pocketgyms.app. We will respond within 30 days. You may also lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

10. Cookies and Session Tokens

The app uses session tokens to keep you logged in. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or tracking technologies.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app or email. Continued use constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
